The Teachers in the Workplace program provides an opportunity for the teachers of Central Midlands to connect with the world of work outside of the classroom. This internship offers teachers 40 hours of direct contact on a business site. Upon completion the teacher intern will earn three hours of graduate credit at Coastal Carolina University. This will be a non-paid activity for the teacher.
We are now recruiting businesses in our area to intern the educators in 2009. If you are interested in your business participating, please request an application and return no later than April 25, 2009. Training will be held for all work site supervisors on Friday, May 15, 2009, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Airport Campus of Midlands Technical College in Room AC 115, 1260 Lexington Drive, West Columbia. You will be given the name and pertinent information on your teacher intern at that time. A letter will be sent to the supervisor whom you indicate on the application form.
